I know I have to get in touch with Al. Especially after what just happened in our monday morning features meeting. My editor has commissioned me to write the column. A 'single girl's column', one where I have been sworn not to mention Al or any other serious love interest. I'm the new Bridget Jones, apparently.

Which I know won't go down well with Al at all.

So, as soon as work finishes, I take a deep breath and get on the district line to Al's flat in Parsons green.

When he opens the door he seems far from amused.

"So it's taken you this long to come and see me then?"

"I text you and called you a thousand times but you never replied. I thought you wanted some space."

We sit down and chat for a while and eventually I tell him about the column. He goes quiet.

Eventually he speaks. "You can do it....but only because I know what it's like to be told to do something for work that culd  be seen as 'risky.'?"

I gulp. "What do you mean?"

"My company (Al works as an agent for Celebs, models and sport stars) wants to do some more promotional work. Get us in the press a bit more. Get our clients in the press."

I look at him. He doesn't look at all nervous. Just smug.

"So Hugh (that's Al's business partneer) has called a journo friend of his and arranged for them to be in Hyde Park at the exact moment Anna Hart (she is a new up coming model/actress) is seen out with her new boyfriend."

"I didn't know she had a man. Who is he?"

"Well, it's going to be me."
