On Tuesday 12th January a devastating earthquake hit the Caribbean island of Haiti, 10 miles west of the capital city Port-au-Prince. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake was followed by 33 severe aftershocks. International Red Cross estimate that around 3 million people will have been affected, and the death toll may reach 200,000.
